News

I have finally completed recording my debut studio tracks that were Produced by A.J. Vallejo of the Vallejo Brothers. The first three tracks are titled "25 Hours Away", " Come And Gone", and "Take It Or Leave It". Performing with me in the studio were Bassist Matt Slagle (The Bart Crow Band) and my bandmate and lead guitarist Ty Read. These first three studio tracks will debut live here on the site on Thursday July 15, 2010 and I will have free CD copies of the songs available at the live show at Beso Cantina in Austin that night. My good friend and local Hip Hop talent Doc Duece will be on hand to open that show with his band and help celebrate this special event.

Production has begun on the music video for my first single "Take It Or Leave It". The video is being shot locally in and around Austin by Director Randy Hines who has directed a number of MC Overlord music videos and several short films. The video also features actress Amanda Phillips who has been an incredible artist to work with. While filming is still in progress I expect the video to debut later this summer here on the site. Stay tuned for further updates.

I have been hard at work developing new songs for my full length debut record which is due to be released in early 2011. Most of the material has been written as I continue to work with my band to establish myself in the local music scene. I will be returning to the studio later this summer to begin production with A.J. Vallejo in the VMG recording studios. A.J. has been at the helm of several albums from friends of mine in the local Austin scene such as MC Overlord, Derrick Davis, Ryan Harkrider, and Aimless Gun. I am honored that he has been committed to helping me build this project that I have aspired to share with everyone for quite some time.

I look forward to all of the great opportunities that are developing and invite you all to continue being a part of making it all happen. Thanks to all of the fans and supporters who have made the live shows so successful this year.

Bio

Michael Dillard is a homegrown product of Austin Texas and has been influenced by the city's rich musical culture since his youth. Having absorbed everything from pop to classic rock, he has developed a diverse appreciation for unique elements of performance.

Living in one of the richest talent hubs in the nation has its privileges. Michael has been able to collaborate and develop his own approach to being an independent artist. His song-writing style is an honest and bold step toward defining his own brand of acoustic rock.

When performing live, Michael creates an instant connection with his fans due to his electric presence on stage. This combined with lyrics that impact and collaborations with some of the most accomplished musicians in the local scene have helped Michael embrace his place as one of Austin's new and growing talents.

In an era of artists that blend and take few risks, Michael Dillard is an energizing raw talent that will certainly leave his mark embedded in the live music capital of the world.
